Green. Greener. Greenest. Kloofzicht Lodge plants 120 indigenous trees

While some are in two minds about the continuous rainy weather, Nadia Wasserman is overjoyed. As Horticulturist for Kloofzicht Lodge & Spa, and in fact the entire Guvon Hotels & Spas group, it is her pleasure and duty to green our hotel landscapes.

Over the past few months Ms Wasserman and her team planted a total of 120 indigenous trees at Kloofzicht Lodge alone. This includes Wild Olive trees (Olea Africana), Karee trees (Rhus lancea) and White Karee trees (Rhus pendulina).

Ms Wasserman was part of the winning team who brought back the gold medal to South Africa, from the annual Royal Horticultural Society’s Chelsea Flower Show in London last year.

An old Chinese proverb says that the best time to plant a tree is always 20 years ago. Our thanks to Nadia for paving the way for future generations – see you at Kloofzicht Lodge under the shade a huge Wild Olive in 2034!
