Time for regrouping before or even just after the wedding day is not a nice to have, but essential.
At the moment I am totally surrounded by brides-to-be. At the office, in our close circle of friends – everywhere you look, weddings are being planned fast and furiously. And can we write books about their experiences – from venue disasters to half-made wedding dresses. If it wasn’t such a source of frustration to the brides, it would certainly have been roll-on-the-floor funny.
Friedel Esterhuizen opted on two Minimoons just after her wedding day. She cleverly planned her wedding for a Thursday, which resulted in massive venue hire savings. Friends are all putting in two days leave and what would have been a quick wedding has turned into a long weekend celebration.
As Director of The Cleaning Studio as well as Lifetree Wellness Solutions, and mom of three kiddies under ten, her life is a flurry of activity. “Duane and I decided on two Minimoon weekends just after our wedding, for the simple reason that both our businesses require our full attention at this stage. In a month from now everything would have settled down and we will be on our way for a three week Honeymoon in Thailand.”
As a wellness expert Ms Esterhuizen is acutely aware of the benefit of keeping body and soul in sync and often does so in a Spa environment. “Spa packages are wonderful ways of rejuvenating as a couple and preventing stress-related burn out”.
