THE FAIRWAY HOTEL, SPA & GOLF RESORT WRAPS RANDPARK IN PINK

If you are traveling on Republic Road heading towards the Fairway Hotel & Golf Resort at Randpark Golf Course, you will see a vision of pink tree trunks which mark the way to the hotel entrance. It is our way in supporting Breast Cancer awareness month.

Pink Trees for Pauline was started by Carol-Ann van Jaarsveldt in 2012 as she wanted to turn her mother and grandmothers legacy into “an epic tale of hope, encouragement and belonging. Carol-Ann lost her mother and her grandmother, both named Pauline, to cancer.

Edith Venter, Dianne Broodryk, & Apprentesses Charity winner, Simone Wilson as well as Breast Cancer Survivor Marietjie Esterhuizen were special guests and joined the guests in wrapping trees after enjoying a light breakfast at the Fairway Hotel. The morning was concluded with refreshments at Roundabout bar while being entertained by the soothing sounds of the the violin.

The trees leading to the hotel were wrapped in pink material and one tree in front of the hotel was used as a memory tree where pink ribbons were tied around branches later during the day. The project honoured all those who had succumbed to cancer as well as those who have survived the disease

“One of the main reason we got involved in this great initiative was to show our support towards cancer awareness. At Guvon Hotels & Spas and The Fairway Hotel in particular we pride ourselves in being actively involved in community projects throughout the year and by being involved in The Pink Tree project, we are honoured to highlight breast cancer and cancer awareness in Springs in general.” says Brenda Dooge, Group PR Manager for Guvon Hotels & Spas.
