DINE AND DONATE WITH BALATA AND STREETSMART!

Featuring stylish fireplaces and a range of seating plans, Balata Restaurant is mostly known for its sumptuous breakfasts and light lunches, but Balata has become one of the most sought after restaurants in fine dining

Since 2013, Balata Restaurant has partnered with StreetSmart South Africa as part of the organisations’ initiative to raise funds for street children projects. StreetSmart was started in 2005 under the founding patronage of Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu.

‪#‎EatOutHelpOut‬ Eating and donating in a StreetSmart Restaurant is a smart & responsible way of helping a street child. When donating to this initiative your donation works towards helping street children and children at risk re-integrate into society, your donation gives hope through family reunification and education and skills training.‬

StreetSmart gives diners the opportunity to give responsibly. The beauty of StreetSmart is in its simplicity and that it is optional. In a StreetSmart restaurant a small, elegant card on the table informs patrons that a voluntary R5-00 will automatically be added to the table’s bill. Should diners like to add more – or none at all, they just need to inform their waiter. Every cent of the funds raised through restaurants goes to the beneficiaries.

“While we wine & dine in style, many go to sleep homeless and hungry. Let’s make a difference!” said Christopher Trimble, General Manager, The Fairway Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort

Visit Balata Restaurant at The Fairway Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort to make your StreetSmart contribution.
